Love or Lust

Where has this guy been all my life? I don't know how he has managed to fly under my radar screen all this time, but yesterday was the first time I had heard of Nate Berkus. It seems he began his career in 1995 at the age of 24 and really burst onto the scene in 2001 when he designed a small space for the Oprah show. This is where he came into my life, yesterday on Oprah, he was launching his home collection being offered exclusively at Linens 'n Things. I fell in "love" with some, "Hell" most of his things and yes, I'm really talking about his designs. But talking about "his other things" I have to admit lust came into play. The guy is gorgeous! Watching him on the show, he had an genuine innocence, a freshness, and a killer smile. When he talked his eyes sparkled, his wide open smile captivated the room and filled it with his passion for his collection. And when he thanked Oprah for being a part of his beginning success the eyes became misty and you could tell the words came from his heart. If there is someone left on your Christmas list, check out his collection I bet you'll find something they would like.

Here is just one of the things I fell in love with, bowls made from "Water Hyacinth" How cool is that?

I want to buy Nate Burkus sheets and a Nate Burkus comfortor, and Nake Burkus towels and invite Nate Burkus over to help me break them all in... I must admit that my allegiance to BBB has shifted to L&T... please tell me one day there will be Nate Burkus underwear...

LOL, Woe your right on that one, there is only a fine line that separates the two.

Spider, Nate Berkus underwear sounds good, but Nate Berkus without underwear sounds even better.

Stephen, my man. OMG - how could Nate have escaped your radar all this time is right!! :) I have been in love and lust with him for a couple of years now.

Better late than never, though, I always say. I'm just glad you know who he is now. And you are right -- he is genuinely innocent and sweet and personable and every gay man's fantasy of "the perfect guy" - or at least in my opinion.

I might just have to make a trip to Linens n' Things to check out his collection.

P.S. Nate without underwear sounds fabulous. I'll send him a note requesting that on behalf of all of us!! LOL :)

Ziggy, your absolutely right, better late than never, had to do some internet research on him and was amazed. When I saw him on Oprah the other day I didn't realize he was gay, lived through the Tusamni (lost a partner to it), damn I've got to get my radar checked, it must be broken....

Stephen, since you're just becoming aware of Nate, you may not know that he and his partner, a well known commercial photographer, were asleep at a Thai resort when the tsunami struck. They tried to hold onto each other but Nate's partner was ripped out of his arms by the force of the water and never seen again. I was impressed at the time that media coverage called them partners and treated their story with respect.

Will, I was floored when I read about that after discovering Nate, I really don't know how all this got by me. Thanks for visiting drop by anytime.
