Have You Gotten

It is time to get your flu vacine! The CDC recommends: "While there is little flu activity right now, flu season usually begins in October, and flu activity is expected to increase in the coming weeks to months. CDC recommends that everyone aged 6 months and older get a flu vaccine every year. The vaccine protects against the three flu viruses research indicates will cause the most illness during the upcoming season".

Flu vaccines are offered in; doctor’s offices, clinics, health departments, pharmacies, college health centers, as well as by many employers like mine (free of charge). The cost is minimal if you have to pay out of pocket and remember another good option if you're in the age range and afraid of needles like so many people are, there's the nasal spray.

There's many that still opt out of getting vaccinated so if you are one of these, maintain a healthy immune system, take your Vitamin C in one form or another and above all remember that hand washing is top of the list.

Love you guys, stay healthy,

Lay Me Down

Now I lay me down to sleep,
I pray the Lord my soul to keep,
If I shall die before I wake,
I pray the Lord my soul to take. Amen.

Over the years my sleeping attire has changed as I've aged. Early on I slept completely naked, not a stitch of clothing, no constrictions of any kind.  Clean crisp sheets against the naked body has always been a wonderful pleasure at night. Sliding in between the sheets, feeling the coolness against your skin....what more can I say, I'm sure you know what I'm talking about. However, over the years, I've slowly progressed to sleeping in pajama bottoms (only) when the house became filled with little invaders coming in and out during the night.  They would creep into bed seeking protection from the monsters hiding under their own bed but walk down a darken hallway to slip into mine, go figure.  Time passes and I guess so do we, now you can find me almost on any given night sleeping in a worn pair of gym shorts and a pull over T-shirt. I no longer have to worry about little invaders and creepy nightly monsters but have not returned to my bare-assed sleeping habit.
After your nightly rituals are done and you've said your nightly prayer how does the sand man find you waiting?

ARROW (Stephen Amell)

Ok I promise I'm not turning my blog into a review of shows here, but the CW has a show that has captured my attention. It is called "ARROW" starring Stephen Amell. Below is the synopsis of the show for those unfamiliar with the character of Oliver Queen. Check it out....
After a violent shipwreck, billionaire playboy Oliver Queen was missing and presumed dead for five years before being discovered alive on a remote island in the Pacific. When he returns home to Starling City, his devoted mother Moira, much-beloved sister Thea, and best friend Tommy welcome him home, but they sense Oliver has been changed by his ordeal on the island. While Oliver hides the truth about the man he's become, he desperately wants to make amends for the actions he took as the boy he was. Most particularly, he seeks reconciliation with his former girlfriend, Laurel Lance. As Oliver reconnects with those closest to him, he secretly creates the persona of Arrow - a vigilante to right the wrongs of his family, fight the ills of society, and restore Starling City to its former glory. By day, Oliver plays the role of a wealthy, carefree and careless philanderer he used to be - flanked by his devoted chauffeur/bodyguard, John Diggle - while carefully concealing the secret identity he turns to under cover of darkness. However, Laurel's father, Detective Quentin Lance, is determined to arrest the vigilante operating in his city. Meanwhile, Oliver's own mother, Moira, knows much more about the deadly shipwreck than she has let on and is more ruthless than he could ever imagine.
I think you will like it equally for the plot of the show as well as for the obvious handsome Stephen Amell.

The Walking Dead

Don't know if you're a fan of The Waking Dead, but I certainly am. If you have never watched it here is something to catch you up: Waking up in an empty hospital after weeks in a coma, County Sheriff Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) finds himself utterly alone. The world as he knows it is gone, ravaged by a zombie epidemic. The Walking Dead tells the story of the weeks and months that follow after the apocalypse. Based on Robert Kirkman's hugely successful and popular comic book series, AMC's The Walking Dead is an epic, edge-of-your-seat drama where personal struggles are magnified against a backdrop of moment-to-moment survival. A survivalist story at its core, the series explores how the living are changed by the overwhelming realization that those who survive can be far more dangerous than the mindless walkers roaming the earth. They themselves have become the walking dead. After watching the above video of Andrew Lincoln, I won't even try to make you believe I watch the show just for the Zombie's.
