A Day of Escape

A Monday afternoon in Savannah was just what the doctor ordered. Spring was in the air and I could not take being cooped up in doors another day, so when the opportunity came to get out and enjoy the day, how could I resist. It turned out to be a beautiful day spent in Savannah, lunch at Olive Garden, a visit to River Street (photo of Waving Girl), a little shopping and some eye candy watching at Lowe's, Home Depot, Best Buy, rounded the afternoon off, all in all it was a perfect afternoon escape.

An excellent day out I would say.

The legend of the waving girl is really cool.

Sounds wonderful - Savannah is such a BEAUTIFUL city - especially in the Spring. Glad you had a great time!

What’s she waving? Laundry? And what’s beside her? A wolf? I love statues of women waving laundry with their trusty carnivorous pack animals.

Sounds like a lovely day. You deserve it!

jamie, it was a good day, I could certainly use more of them.

woe, the statue is of a actual person but it is the legend of why she did what she did for nearly forty years that captured me. Imagine for one minute, meeting someone, loving someone so powerful, losing them, losing their presence, but never losing the love, a love so consumming that it was strong enough to last a lifetime.

dave in cleveland, unfortunately a lady waited of us, but belive me there was plenty of eye candy to feast my eyes at Lowes, Best Buy, and Home Depot.

spider, you are so right, Savannah is a lovely old southern lady that welcomes you with moss covered oaks and a old world charm that warms my heart.

jetboy747, laundry and carnivorous wolves oh my! It is time I take away that vodka and cranberry and make you a tall glass of raspberry whey.....

It's been *ages* since I've been to Savannah. Is there still a place down on River Street called Spanky's? *sigh* It's really a beautiful city.

I wanna go to Savannah...my other half is in Atlanta this week at the Home Depot Headquarters for his job...I love of my life is a homo at the Homo Depot...i just had to go there...but he does work there, maybe I should be worried about all the eye candy he is seeing everyday (or maybe not since he is a little more frisky when he gets home...hmmm)...glad you enjoyed your day!!

Savannah has always been one of my favorite getaways. I feel it calling me, maybe it's because St. Patty's day is coming up.

Sounds like you had an amazing day, my dear boy, and I can think of no one more deserving of a fantastic, wonderful day than you. The Olive Garden is my all time favorite restaurant...and yes...some of the waiters are almost too hot to handle. But then who says I "handle" them?? Hehe...seriously...glad you had fun and I'm thrilled you had so much wonderful eye candy to look at. Hope tomorrow is another fabulous day for you.
